What: The Certification Monitoring and Evaluation of Public Programs and Information Systems Certification III of the Masters Certificate in Results-Based Management of Public Programs) is designed to provide a structured approach to monitoring and evaluation of public strategies, programs and projects, as well as tools for the design and implementation of an integrated results-based monitoring and evaluation system. It is one of three modules that lead to a Masters certificate in Results-Based Management of Public Programs offered jointly by the Laval University and the IDEA International Institute. Participants to this workshop are also eligible for the Professional development units (PDUs) accredited by the PMI.
Objectives: At the end of this certification, the candidate will be able to:
- Develop a structured M&E approach for public strategies, programs and projects;
- Formulate recommendations
to improve M&E mechanisms in a given public institution; - Propose operational tools and discuss technical and institutional issues related to an M&E system;
- Participate in the design and implementation of an M&E information system;
- Supervise and coordinate M&E activities;
- Communicate M&E results for better decision making.
Target Audience: These workshops are designed for professionals and civil service officers involved in the monitoring and evaluation of strategies and public programs, for example the MDGs M&E unit, the PRS M&E unit, Institute of Statistics, and M&E units in Ministries. They also address the needs of professionals responsible for monitoring and reporting to the Government and financial and technical partners.
